Itinerary
Start the tour by entering the Lluta Valley, one of the side valleys that cross the vast territory covering the world’s driest desert, the Atacama Desert, to meet with an important panel of geoglyphs, archaeological remains of ancient civilizations inhabited the valleys.
Visit the towns of Poconchile and Molino (2.201 ft. o.s.l.), ancient settlement of farmers. Transfer to Azapa Valley, visiting the church and cemetery of San Miguel town. Then visit the Museum Azapa, which shows the cultural development of South Central Andean area, which highlights the Chinchorro mummies, the oldest in the world. Continue to the geoglyphs of Cerro Sombrero and Cerro Sagrado with their cultural background. Then visit the San Lorenzo Pukara, defensive Pre Inca village 500 BC.
