Tour to the Great Pica Oasis and the Nitrate Ghost towns
Come and discover the nitrate past in the North of Chile, visiting the ghost towns of Humberstone and Santa Laura, which are peoples of the American West due to their North American and British influence, in the middle of the driest desert on the planet. Then you will enter the Oasis of Pica, located in the middle of a sea of sand, with hot springs, tropical fruits such as oranges, mangoes, guavas, grapefruits and the famous pica lemon, as well as typical sweets such as the famous Pica alfajor. And for children the Jurassic Park of Dinosaurs, located between the route from the Oasis of Pica to the Oasis of Matilla.

Itinerary
Tour leaves at 8:30 am crossing the Coastal Range to visit the former nitrate Ghost Towns of Santa Laura and Humberstone (Declared World Heritage, by UNESCO), where saltpeter was exported to Europe and US. Here visit the typical buildings as the Theatre, Market, General Store, Hospital, School, Tennis court, and more. Then cross Pozo Almonte town to arrive at the Sanctuary of La Tirana (Place of the most important religious party of Chile).
Arrival at the Pica Oasis to have lunch in a typical restaurant and visit the Church of San Andrés (16th century), the Jurassic Park with its replicas of dinosaurs, typical craft stalls and enjoy natural mango or guava juices, plus typical sweets of the zone. Visit to the Oasis of Matilla, to know the Spanish Wine Press (18th century), the Church of San Antonio with its Bell Tower.
